Creativity and Aesthetics

Before starting my study in ID, I used to think that creativity & aesthetics was just about the looks of product. But it’s not just about the looks, it’s also about the touch of a product, the experience that comes with the product, the bond that people create with the product, and a whole lot more.

P1 was my first big project, so I’ve learned a lot of things. A lot of things about creativity & aesthetics to, since it was my first time involving these expertise areas. I like this area a lot, since I care about what users think, feel, experience, etc. with my products.

Math, Data and Computing

I had mathematics B in high school, and this mathematics tied in very well with the mathematics we had at ID studies. Unlike math, I’ve never had data and computing before. I had to start from the beginning and the pace of the course Data Analytics was very high. Despite the pace being really high, I managed to learn a lot about coding and statistics.

The coding part that I learned came in handy with a new course named Creative Programming. Although it’s not the same coding language, it’s quite similar to each other, which gave me an easier start on the course.

In the future I would like to learn even more about coding. I would want to learn how to program a robot, since that could be very useful for my CBL P2..

User and Society

This expertise area was completely new to me. I had to use it in P1 and HCD. Despite the fact that I don’t find it the most interesting expertise area, I do think it’s a very important one. It’s important for me, because it involves the users, and since you’re making the products for users it’s a good thing to involve the users of the product in the design to make sure that the product is going to be used.

Despite the fact that this expertise area is completely new to me, I’ve learned so much already, but still need to learn a lot of things to.
